Slingshot problems…

December 2, 2007 Leave a comment Go to comments

Apparently slingshots are not “appropriate” toys for kids these days. The following conversation took place this Saturday at “Play Safe & Happy,” toy store. (Of course I didn’t realize the name until after asking for help.)

Me: Excuse me, by any chance do you have slingshots?

Cashier: Um, no!

Me: Okay….do you know where I could get one?

Cashier: Well we have a marshmallow shooter

Me: I want it to hurt

Cashier: What is wrong with you?

Me: Old school I guess.

Cashier: Or just not very nice.

Geez, pretty soon they’ll be taking the “full contact” out of “croquet”…

…and the fun out of Calvinball.

    Hello Timmy,
I’ve enjoyed our leaving messages on each others phones, but I thought a kind word on here would be best. James and I just read some of your most recent “blogs”, as james corrects me…which make me feel a little closer to ya. Hope all continues to go well. We miss you. And we will send some food. Be on the look out Docta shiz. Ciao for now.

    Hey Bro,

I thought this was easily one of the funniest things I’ve read in a while. It’s so true. I couldn’t find a “toy pirate gun” at Disneyland for my nephew for Christmas because they are “dangerous”. Remember the good old days when you could play outside until the sun went down and you would play “cops & robbers”, “cowboys & indians”, or just plain old “war”….now days its video games and myspace….lame.
